Description Last night I finally got inspired to draw again after I learned some new photoshop techniques. The brushes I used are so much more comfortable for me to draw with. This is Princess Skrumpy (in the green) her best friend Cornie and her sister Princess Vivienne. Skrumpy is pretty scrapy and likes to fight, build treehouses and read books about the military history of the kingdom. Cornie is her best friend, his dad is the royal chef and his mom is the royal librarian. He also has a crush on Vivienne. Vivienne is the heir to the throne and is a much more traditional princess than Skrumpy, but Skrumpy teaches her how to loosen up and be herself. My friend is writing the stories to go along with these characters and she's a good writer so these characters may actually go somewhere unlike my other characters.

I thought for a moment Vivienne was Skrumpy and I am so amused by the thought of a gorgeous princess with that name. I bet Skrumpy will grow up to be even more of a knockout than her sister. They're really cute, can't wait for more.

Very nice, Brynn, very nice!

So, was the entire picture a sketch and you only colored it in Photoshop, or did you draw some things after scanning, say, just the characters? I'm curious.

I found a brush that mimics pencil markings so I was able to draw the whole thing online but still get the effect of pencil drawing that I like. No scanning involved and I didn't have gross shadows and eraser marks that I would get if I had scanned it. The brush is here: [link] It makes it really easy to sketch, at least for me. I prefer it to the look of the brushes I'd previously been using, it looks more natural to me.

.....wow, those are impressive! Obviously, if I thought your picture was a bonafide pencil drawing! Actually, with a bit of tinkering, you can get a pretty good pencil brush with the brushes in Photoshop! Experimentation FTW!
