This probably needs some tweaking, but I figgured most of the tweaks won't show up on camera.Charcoal/white pastel on green waffley paper. (I say that, because it has a very even, kind of annoying texture.)
This piece is very "me". It incorporates several of my fav. symbols, and all in all...I think I like this one. It's just another intuitive look into what I feel it means to be human. Maybe I'll have more to say about certain things later, but some of it I am still trying to find words for.
The male figure is from 's stock images. Thanks agian! Sorry hun, just had to put another tree in ya.

The portraitΒ΄s title is "trial", and I think the man whoΒ΄s hunched over kind of symbolizes the fear of people being put to a test or a challenge or something. The persons in the backgrounds have no faces because they could be anybody, I guess, their faces are not important... the tree... maybe it embodies the eternal guild of the people exploiting their surroundings? IΒ΄m really at a loss -.-
sorry if my interpretation sucks, IΒ΄m not that got at them.
Anyway, i really like your picture, you just rock with pastells XD My favorite part is the shadowing of the man, really emphasizes the defined muscles

Hey, thanks for the fav, and as far as the tree goes...I use trees in SO many things. For me, trees are as unique and complicated as people. They symbolise growth, wisdom, and individuality, as well as...oh so much more. ^_^

i like the mood you created and the concept too! love the details such as the faces in the tree and i like the twisty and old form of the tree. i also like how you incorporated a faint background of tree branches
