Description More digital illustration homework. In this one he gave us two crapy lake photos and we had to Photoshop it into a new composition. Once we were done we had to do a simple painting of it. I did a glowy lady coming out of water surrounded by more glowies...then I called it a nymph.

Oh my gosh this thing is so AWESOME
So awesome
So awesome
SO AWESOME
I love almost everything about this picture. It's the right level of messy-simple mixed with detailed-beautiful. If that makes any sense at all. (It might not)
In other words, its a very simple painting, but the simplicity somehow makes it more powerful. Ya know?

I love the rocks the best, actually. The more I look at them, the more I marvel at the the soft lighting from the nymph, contrasting the hard shading on the moonlit side. The dual light sources turned out so wonderfully.
I could stare at those rocks on the left all day. The rocks and their highlights blend in beautifully with the water, too.
I also like the reflections and moonlight on the water in the background-- they turned out very nice, and I like the ripples in the left corner.

The bright green on the forming nymph is perfect against the rich blues of the sky. The dark of the mountains emphasizes the glow. And the glow is a gorgeous, eye-catching, delicious thing. The effect is really nice...
She turned out beautiful, simple yet striking, and really spiffy with those glowing eyes. I love the leaf designs in the 'vortex' the best!

The title for this picture was a really cool idea~
You better have gotten an A.

I guess he's just trying to keep you from being complacent, since you're already good... you know, pushing you to improve on your improvement.

I love these kinds of lighting effects. They look really great, casting light on things and stark shadows like that.
