In a project which involves creating this character concept in a variety of games art styles, as I try to increase my talent in pixel art.

This first art style I've placed the character in is based off
"Dokapon Journey" for DS.

I've been stuck in writers/artists and animators block D;..
So I tried to do this this-afternoon in an attempt to break that block D:.. Hence why I did this earlier in the week than I expected.

Working on this was such a fantastic experience, being able to adapt a character to a style and match the skill level of the professional artist. It was one hell of a challenge, but it was so much fun by the end of it.
I used a different pose to avoid anything like tracing, etc.

Some of the main problems I had was that I kept shading too many things out of habit.
It made it too busy and it ended up looking to 'painted' and not sharp enough of an image. But working side-by-side with the original art I was able to overcome that problem and in the end I finally managed to get a result I was happy with .
Also you'll probably notice the change in design from the concept. Note that the concept, was a concept. It was designed knowing that it would likely need to be simplified to suit the different game art I would be adapting it to.

Anyway, I think this project is off to a good start >:3..

I've got a base image for you

I always make the underlay of an image to guide me when working on the clothes, so if anyone wants a base each time it's no trouble .
