Beauty and the Beast is no doubt my favourite Disney film out of all of them. I love it and I've probably watched it hundreds of times ... but I'd happily watch it hundreds more.What did I think of the new one? ... Meh, it was ok, I guess. Little disappointing, but ... meh.

Awesome drawing, I really like all the details, and that little chibi you in the corner is super cute.
Beauty and the Beast is among my favourite Disney films as well, I watched it the most out of all of them as a kid, the new one I heard was pretty good, they faithfully recreated it, but it had it's flaws, and Emma Watson, i'm sorry, she is definitely no Belle.

Yeah, it feels too modern and you could tell they shoehorned in some elements just for marketing and so called ethical reasons, which make no sense historically.

Yes. While I agree with the time period setting - it being uncommon if not unheard of for common folk to read or write (at that moment in time only the well off were taught to read, if at all), there was no ... emotional impact. No intimacy. And I think the dance sequence was BORING. There was no closeness or any inkling belle liked the Beast. At all.

Oh yeah, compared to the animated version which is handled more realistically.
A friend of mine once said that she feels Emma Watson is not that good of an actor, I feel this movie really displays it in broad daylight.

Yeah, but as Disney are riding high on doing live action versions of their classic films, that's probably not going to happen anytime soon.

Yeah. That said, I really liked the new Jungle Book. (they could have left "I wanna be like you" out, but I still liked the movie as a whole)
