Yes. I am the genie of the Desk Lamp! Behold my mighty power and despair.If you actually google Genies (or Djinns), it's really fascinating. They come from Islamic theologies, which portray both good and bad ones. It's the bad ones you have to worry about - they're tricksters and can cause serious, serious trouble. So, probably a good idea to stay away from Djinns altogether. Not all of them are like Genie from Aladdin.
