Description
Want to see what kind of madness I conjure when I make the babs? Here is just one part! These are just the eyes. This is a simplified guide and I mixed sources. Keep in mind, there might be inconsistencies/false info that I have not been able to iron out. I also took consideration of OC cat designs to give a wider range of possibilities. This is free to use, however, do not claim it as your own. If I catch someone claiming it as their own, they will be reported and my copy will be purchase to use.
Panel 1
As we see in Panel 1, how I determine the gender of the kits and the simple rules on how colors are passed on. In the case if both cats are of same sex, my OC is automatically the Male Parent. If any cat is a Tortie/Calico, they are automatically the Female Parent. In the case of two Torties/Calicos, my OC is Parent 1, the Male.
Panel 2
This panel detrmines the sex and what they will inherit, even before their colors and quirks are designed. Toms only take after their mother. They can carry genes from the father, however, in terms of displaying the genes, they will always look like their mother. Mollies, on the other hand, are a bit random. They are most likely to take after their fathers, however, they can look like their mother, or a combo of the two. They can carry genes from their mother. To keep things simple, Mollies will look like their father, however, there is a rare chance that they can look like their mothers.
Panel 3
Eyes are complicated. They match the pelt color of the cat more than inheriting eye colors. It is rare to inherit a eye color, this includes the intensity of the eye color, however, this happens when the same eye color gets passed down from each generation. Listed are the eye colors that are paired with the exact coat color and patterns. Yes, patterns too. This panel includes the hues and specialized eye colors and mutations, including the Albino series and the Russian Topaz series. More will be covered on these series when we get to the Bi-Color Segment. It is easier to talk about the differences between White, High White and Albino in that segment. Yes, there is a difference between a Pure White Cat and a Cat with High White that makes it look like its Pure White. And we know about the Albino.
This panel covers the Heterochromia and the Dichromic eyes. I set a mini rule that the combinations can not be the colors they are next to each other on the line ex: Green and Hazel or Amber and Orange. These colors are too close to each other and would not be noticed.
The next sheet will talk about the basic colors and lead into the tabbies.
