Description
This later Gundam Flight Test Type featured a dramatic redesign in an attempt to correct the problems found in the first unit. The legs were redesigned, with the engine turbines rotated within the framework of the lower legs, and the entire hindleg portion widened for stability. The unit was also equipped with chobham armor to correct its balance and attitude control problems, and the back-mounted stability binders were shifted and integrated with the thrusters. This unit performed far better, but the problems were not completely fixed, and a minor third variant was developed, producing the RX-79A Gundam Flight Type.
