What an astonishing photograph. I love birds, and bird photography (something I hope to get into this year). The detail of this birds feathers are simply outstanding! I can't say I've seen a shot like this that is so utterly clear. It is also very intriguing to see the tiny feathers that surround the birds eye...that something you don't see every day. Excellent work! A definite .

These photos from the ringing station are quite amazing. This one is surreal. You are very lucky to have been able to shoot them! : )

Ah...you work at a ringing station. That explains the small distance... Are you holding them?
In any case: very beautiful portrait!

Yeah I was holding them in one hand and the camera in the other
Some of them were not so cooperative and I got some bird shit on my hand xD

Holy wow! 50mm? How did you manage to get so close? And what lens? 50/2 or 50-200?

I was helping at a bird ringing station, they catch the birds with nets and put little numbered rings on their legs. I was holding the bird in one hand and the camera in the other
The lens i used was the fabulous 50 F2.

The lenses I use most of the time are the zuiko 70-300 and the 14-42.
I've got also the Sigma 150 F2,8.
