The invasion attempt by hostile aliens seemed to the wake up call the kaiju needed, as more of them began to emerge from the Inner Earth. Among this next wave of colossi was Embaryon, the colossal tunneler. Although, like many before him, Embaryon only arrived to help if absolutely needed.

Embaryon is a powerful creature for his relatively small size, capable of bowling over larger kaiju and shredding through their flesh with his thick arms and claws. Add on to this his aggressive nature and you have a kaiju who regularly quarrels with others over territory. While simple in nature, he can be made unpredictable with his nearly unparalleled digging ability, allowing him to conduct sudden ambushes, avoid damage or retreat when things aren't going his way. Interestingly, Embaryon seems to be the ancestor to the smaller Scarmuto and is even occasionally seen chumming around with them, though he's not above eating them if hungry.

Embaryon isn't seen favorably by humanity, as his aggressive nature coupled with his unpredictable path and need for territory can often lead him to burrowing into or under cities. Thus, it isn't uncommon to see the Protectors engaging him if efforts to reroute him.
