It's late summer, and cicadas are out in force right now! I found a few "scissor grinder" cicadas on my porch this week, and they're actually really pretty. They're green, white, brown, and a bit gold- and their wings are a bit golden-shiny in certain lighting. :> I feel like cicadas get a bit of a bad rep as ugly or weird because there's just so many of them and they're so loud for such a short portion of the year, but really they're just adorable chonks that bumble around for a bit, screaming. Fear not cicadas, I'm here to redeem you XD
Also, cicadas look like beakless hummingbirds.
