Description
Edit: I edited the cliff a little bit.
My entry for PanDeSalvado 's art contest. I kinda had trouble deciding who to draw, but I eventually settled on Jeff partly so I could experience drawing a bipedal dragon. I had a lot of fun drawing this overall!
I spent a lot of time with the shading and effects aaaa hope you like it! ^^
Art belongs to me.
Jeff belongs to PanDeSalvado .

This is really nice!
I like the color of the sky and the lighting on the dragon, as well as the shading, it looks so soft!
I have a few tips though, with the clouds, use a more solid brush with less texture to color the inside of them, (though it depends on the type of cloud you're drawing), then you go in to do detail with a higher texture, so you can make them more fluffy around the edges. I suggest using the Brush setting, and set blending around 50% or more when blending in different colors, but you can regularly adjust the blending settings while doing depending on how soft that part of the cloud is (start with a dark color before going to a lighter color!). And as an opinion, i would've made the pinks transition into the oranges and yellows better.
Another thing i think you could put more detail into is the cliff, and the lightning along that and the grass. I feel with the cliff i would've made it more jagged and rocky, as no cliff is really that smooth (i know i'm wrong on that lol), and maybe put in patches of grass and moss. Along the edge and the grass, With the overlay and or the Luminosity brush around mid opacity, more or less, outline the edge and cracks of the cliff, with a light yellow or orange. The grass, you can make the brush softer because light will sine through grass, and i would make the shading on the edge of the grass on the cliff more apparent.
But anyways, this piece really shows off the improvement you've done so far over the past year, and i hope to see more ^^

Thank you for the critique! ^^
Yeah with clouds there are like a LOT of ways to draw them..problem is that I never know what clouds I want to draw so everything ends up very inconsistent. XD
I was actually aware of the cliff...but I had trouble detailing it to make it look the way you described it so I just kinda gave up and went smooth. XP Fir the grass I used a tutorial I found, and kinda followed it but ended up using a brush and setting the density with different levels. The part about light shining through grass was really a helpful hint. ^^

This is a nice piece, the colors are lovely. You painted the sky wonderfully, and I like Jeff's posing

First, I have a stamp on my profile that states not to post one word comments.
And thatβs because I heavily dislike one word comments, in all honestly itβs not that hard to write at least a few words (its rather lazy in my opinion), and one-word comments do not give me any insight at all to my artwork. If youβre just gonna say, βawesomeβ, I donβt know which part specifically about my art is awesome.

But what about random people who find your deviation? They don't look on your page. Tbh, I find it rude, people are just trying to be nice.

Yeah I understand that, which is why for now on Iβm leaving that disclaimer in all of my deviations for now on.
I understand they are trying to be nice. But what would be rude is if people DID see the, βNo one-word commentsβ and proceeded to still comment like that.
