It must be terribly lonely. . . Trapped in a reality where no one can see or hear you. Not even the flowers’ echoes respond to your distant cries. . .For Mendertale’s 2nd anniversary contest, I chose to recreate a past scene of the comic. I was originally going to illustrate the true lab since it was one of the most emotionally strong events in the story. However, I am already experienced with drawing that area of Undertale, and I wanted to experiment with dramatic lighting. What better place to do that than in Waterfall? Also, I noticed that we were allowed to do pixel art, leading me to combine Undertale’s art style with my own to make it seem as if Mendertale was a video game. Overall, I am happy with the results.
