Newest edit 9.5.2010. I got bored of that wannabe-fire and did it in pokémon-style (which is just worse but I like mah monsters look like they could fit the series.) Older fire looked like this.

Flamster (flame + hamster)
Fire Rodent Pokémon
Fire type
Flamster is a docile pokémon who becomes friendly easily. Its back is burning whole time. Flamster won't burn its master but if it takes fright, it may accidentally burn things around it. If not caring this fact, Flamster is a nice friend during walking in dark forests (and when you take a break, you can grill marshmallows on your monster). Wild Flamsters live in large groups in fertile volcanic areas.

Cavigni (cavia [Italian - guinea pig] + ignis [Latin - fire])

Unless your Cavigni have had your friend when being Flamster, it won't like you too much. Cavigni is very stubborn rodent who won't even battle if it don't want or like you much enough. Cavigni has steelhard claws and teeth, and with its all-time flaming fire it can make grass/poison pokémons suffer hard if it wants.

Murigur (Muridae [a family of mammals, including lots of rodents] + fulgur [Latin - lightning flash])
Warrior Rodent Pokémon
Fire/Steel type
When Cavigni won't battle if it dislikes you, Murigur will battle hard no matter which situation is going on. The harder thing is to make it stop. Murigur has fiery nature and it won't retreat even before a way too strong opponent. It continues attacking desperately and may risk its life. If it is a good companion with its master, though, it stops fighting when master says eventhough it means losing. "To lose" doesn't fit Murigur's head too well, and in history many hot-headed Murigurs have lost their life in wrong hands. Murigur has sharp and hard fireproof steelclaws and metallic tail which burns inside. Very experienced Murigurs has longer tail than just evolved ones.

I wonder why anybody hadn't take name Flamster for a pokémon before this...because it's just awesome in some stupid way. lol
I want one on them. Grilled marshmallows are good.
