Can I ask why you've been trying to change Twinkle's name to Moondancer?
You're the absolute only person who actually calls her that. At least you were when you started making these comics.

Actually, when we started making these comics, Moondancer/Twinkle had both names listed on the FiM wiki. This is because in the 1980's MLP, there was a pony named Moondancer who looked similar to Twinkle/Moondancer (red mane, white coat, stars and a moon cutie mark).
Needless to say, the FiM wiki changed to make Moondancer/Twinkle only Twinkle (with a separate, pictureless entry for the mysterious Moondancer) after we started making the comics (but i am sort've hoping to get the name changed back 
As to the name choice in and of itself, as far as i can tell, the fan names are completely arbitrary and the only reason "Twinkle" was ever considered was because Moondancer/Twinkle had the line, "Moondancer's having a little get together in the west castle court yard."
We decided to interpret this as a personality quirk of Moondancer's (hence the name). Others, it seems, interpret this as proof positive she wasn't Moondancer, but simply talking about Moondancer.
Really, i don't mind either. In fact, it's my contention that everypony else (including in-universe Ponyvillians) is confused about Moondancer's name and think she is a pony named Twinkle who is simply obsessed with Moondancer.
