Description Can robots have body-image issues? I haven't asked one, but I would think so.

This has been lying around for a while. Posting it because A) I haven't posted cheesecake in weeks. And B) I haven't scanned and cleaned up anything I drew while the fires were tapdancing all over my city.

She look like girl, who transfer her mind into robot body and at first enjoyed it (previous image), but now she sense how she becoming more a machine. How little less from her old. At the same time, she is torn between the goals that she has set herself, and former feelings that do not fit the new body. Desires that are inaccessible to the robot, that is meaningless for the machine, catch up her. At such moments of doubt overwhelmed her.
But the logic wins. She became a robot. And she will be a machine. She will improve the her body further.

I like how this makes you think about the possibilities of trans human and nonhuman body image issues.

Well, maybe sentient robots will be made with swappable parts and plug-in upgrades. Just to aleviate those sort of issues.

Anyways, neat work on the metal details, and really nice work on the shiny colors!

Well, if a robot could develop and/or be programmed with enough intelligence to be sentient, then I suppose a robot could have body-image issues.

My friend has a body-image issue in real life today ever since she has an eating disorder when she was young.

Hmmmmm...., I wonder. Have your robot suffered from ' eating disorder ' before? just curious.

Of course they can, cause body issues aren't about the body, but the mind.

LOVE THE BODY! NO HATING!

should but that in a teen magazine damnit..

anyways, great artwork!

-btw did I mention I totally suck at drawing and I'm a writer so my comments will be totally inane chatter and useless commentary.....

and maybe some drool...<.<, >.>, *glances at some of your other drawings, like the one about no modesty*...okay yeah some drool, sorry *wipes that up for you*

I think any robot - especially one designed and built with the mesmerizing nature of the feminine form at the top of the aesthetic priority list - could and would most certainly have body issues of some form or other; be they pre-programmed as part of a realism application, or perhaps a glitch; a ghost in the machine...

A being built for beauty might fear rejection, thus instilling it with fear of complete exposure. Humans have inbuilt flaws, which we eventually come to see as deeper forms of beauty, whereas a robot is an attempt at absolute perfection, thus setting expectations far higher.

Ah, robotics.

Beautiful piece. To me, it evokes an interesting balance of sensuality and sadness

Weird the Text makes me think that the robot either has had a human mind implanted in her or a "Ghost in the Machine"

Hmm, Im just wondering, and bear with me, is there something up with her left arm? Im not sure if its the shading thats on her abdomin or something, im a lil confusel'd on where some of her bodyparts are placed.

well beyond that gewd work, I cant say much more than that, since your a much better illustrator than I am .

It still love how you do robot hair and teh metal shine. You did a good job on the pose, she does look like she's self conscious about her image. It's great that you're posting again after the fires passed, I'm even more greatful that the fires didn't hit your home. I'm just for your neighbors who were not so fortunate T-T.

But enough lets see what we wanna see, have her strip off dat chassy and show us dem circuits! CHOP CHOP!!!

Only kidding <3

Tracks and Blot.

Tracks is an Autobot from the old Generation One Transformers series. He transforms into a blue Corvette, and is somewhat vain about his alternate mode, reluctant to transform back into robot mode, or even engage in combat.

Blot, a Decepticon from the same era, is quite the opposite. He's filthy. Dripping lubricants, oozing hydraulic fluids, creaking joints, stress fractures, metal fatigue... he's a mess, and he sorta has low self esteem as a result.

Proof that robots can have body image issues if ya ask me

Teasealot In reply to DexAntares [2007-11-13 18:08:38 +0000 UTC]

You forgot Jazz was a little vain about himself being a white Porsche, there was Arcee who was annoyed and called Optimus sexist for making her a PINK caddilac and there was a decepticon who was part of one of the combiner teams, can't remember his name at the minute, could be Breakdown, he's a white sports car, he had an unconcious ability to EMP things around him while in car form... anyway, he was self-concious about it.
Further proof robots can be bodyshy or have other body image issues.

They might, if they can somehow have human emotions then why not one seemingly everyone has. However unlike us, their problem can be fixed without complications. Sigh.

Oh, and as for robots having body issues, it all depends on how they were programmed, so yes, it is quite possible that they could.
