"in 2018 i wanna say... please draw lots of animals that arent just canines or felines, theres so many cool animals out there that arent appreciated and need more love!!! cows, boars, monkeys, frogs, birds, insects, dinosaurs, etc etc etc. i could go on and on about drawing many different animals and i love anybody that takes the time and effort to do so"

But I second this -find a more obscure animal you love to draw!
Horses are difficult to draw (as with anything, easier with practice) but really fun, as are all large hooved mammals imo.
Shetland ponies aaaaaadghhhghhbkgcjgxktixocyco!!!
Birds are like a mystery floof, but once you figure out how their skeleton WORKS under all those dang feathers, you got legs and wings for DAYZZZ
Friggin DINISAURS (check out marimoreno -she knows how to work MAGIC)
Grizzly and polar bears are my JAM (look up Teryl Whitlatch's work on Brother Bear)
I love badgers and wolverines so much you have no idea
Sharks are like the fish equivalent of models. They're sleek, they're fine, and they know it. Unless it's an epically scarred, gnarly great white, of course
Crabs are pointy boys, but fun to sketch!
Mandrils have the best teeth. Living nightmares, the lot of them.
And I love drawing hares. Not sure why.

TO START DRAWING A NEW ANIMAL:
Find reference pictures of that animal.
Find references of the SKELETON and MUSCULATURE and difficult body parts specifically like feet and antlers
Find an artist YOU LIKE that draws that animal and figure out WHY you like how they drew it!
(Bonus: make a new character from that animal to practice!)
