To be more specific, everything has hidden meanings on manga.
The japanese fellas always like to search for these visual riddles, it's kinda fun.^^

Well, about the pink, here's the explanation:
Pink is a mixtured color (red+white), and represents a romantic and delicate behaviour, smooth sensuality and charismatic personality. Also it gives the sensation of femininity. When we do characters with that color, most of the times we apply on girly chars, but it can also be applied on male, though. Pink is the smoothed way of what the red means.
