Description
I wanted to do an aerospace fighter that was bizarre looking, so here's what I dubbed the "pod mech." I wanted it to look a bit aquatic, and the design [in aerial mode] bears some resemblance to armored jawless fish of the Devonian era, most notably Arctolepis [you probably can't see it since I didn't do a top view yet]. Anyways this thing as one energy projection weapon on the forward gimbal and instead of 'zapping' the target like your usual ray gun, the energy beam it shoots hooks up like a string and then the weapon pumps the energy through. Closest thing that fits right now is a magnetic conduit guided plasma weapon but I want to look for another alternative. In the end I might have to scrap the idea anyways, which is totally fine.Very few of these highly maneuverable "pod mechs" were produced.
Made some minor changes; changed the name to Akula, which I felt was a more appropriate name [will change again in the future].

Really cool design. I like the idea of the change in configuration. Some really great details in there, a definite fave!

I have fallen in love with this. I can discern the cephalic sutures of the fish in the panel lines. This is great. Very strong concept indeed.

very nice concept art. machine desing is not for everyone! you did it with the aquatique look /the main form reminds me this of a whale to say the truth not that much of akula.

Yeah, but "Akula" was closer than "Skadi"
Besides, Akula sounds meaner than, like, Cetus. xD

This is hugely impressive young sir You're profile says you are 17 so I foresee you doing some pretty incredible work as you continue progress because this is damn bloody fantastic right now. Unique and aesthetically pleasing design, great detailing. I design piles of this kind of stuff myself so wild work like this always catches my eye. Bravo!

Great work! Definantly like how you made is look simular to the Revenant battle suits! Is this some thing thats made just for them? And as you probebly already know, the best inspiration for vehicals always seems to come from nature. Odd how the more futuristic some thing is the more its inspired by things that lived millions of years ago. The closest thing that humans have to simulated space on earth is water.

Good observation; I started the design with ERC's armor motifs in mind, and yes, it's kind of like part of the "system," though normal people can use it too [but they do not benefit from faster reaction times that Guardians with the dedicated neural lace would]. It's supposed to be a largely automated war machine dropped from warships such as the Garm [I'll post it up later] and the pilot-carrying ability is mostly just used to ferry [important] people down to the surface without using cumbersome dropships.
Vehicles tend to get inspired nowadays by animals is kind of a realization that human R&D process is not quite a match for the rigors and refinements that nature's designs had to go through... This time, though, it was kind of just an aesthetic thing.
Also I'll probably rename it to Akula ["shark"] since it would be a far more appropriate dub for this vehicle than Skadi.

And so u made a surprize Very good outcome I have to say. And it shows that it can hover in the top left corner, which u didn't show in the preview version, so it's all godd. Again, good job, one of your best so far.

man that's really cool. It almost looks like a robot or something, with tiny little eyes at the front. Great job.

You're right! Those are sensors "eyes" on the front and the thing does house an AI for limited autonomy. ^^
