Abilities:
Disguising himself as other people or objects. If he has something of theirs like clothing etc, he can create an illusion and appear like a clone. If it is separated from him or destroyed, it breaks the illusion. As for objects, by using similar materials and shaping them into that object, he can recreate it and use it. If the object is broken it will separate into what the original materials were used to create the illusion. He can will the illusions away, or whoever sees through his disguises makes it known, it will break it as well.
Able to use a large amount of magical paper seals. He and his brother learned from a kind priestess how to use simple magic when they were younger. Things like putting someone to sleep/paralyze them, holding things together, and elemental magic are some of the simpler things they can do.

Excellent sense of smell and hearing.

Xiao is typically not a nice person when you first meet him. He’s honest, but a bit too much at times that causes people to hate or dislike him. Most of the time he doesn’t see being honest bad and doesn’t really care what others think of him. His confidence oozes out all over the place, but there are times he’s actually shy, but of course hides it. He’s been with his brother so much that sometimes he isn’t sure how to converse with people properly, alas not bothering to talk to others or hurting someone’s feelings. He’s rather lazy when it comes to getting things done like a job or chore, but that can be fixed with a bit of competition. Egging him on or taunting him can get him riled up to save his pride.

Xiao is also quite judgmental. He’s a bit too observant, and with his habit of being honest, it’s no wonder people don’t like him. Unlike his brother, Xiao has learned to be independent from a young age. He had to be if he was going to protect Bao, which he solemnly swore when they were young. Surprisingly, he is actually quite loyal to his friends/lover. He wouldn't ever talk behind your back or keep secrets, he’d rather say it to your face. That also comes with being protective with the people he considers friends or those close to him. He doesn't have many he deems as friends, but if you’re a lucky one, he’d have your back for life.

There’s definitely more to say about Xiao, but I’ll leave that for others to find out.

Biography:
Xiao was born in the mountains of China, along with his twin brother, Bao (fav.me/d7xcqrs) . They were left alone when they were very young, too young to fend for themselves. Where they’re mother went, they aren't sure. They were lucky that a traveling merchant found them, stumbling about from their den. He was kind enough to take them and care for them, but also thought he could raise them and then use their pelts for money. The pups quickly learned though, they weren't normal foxes. The merchant just thought they were very smart, but the two understood the language like any of other human. That was when they even learned to talk like them.
The moment they uttered clear words, the merchant thought they were taken over by evil spirits and tried to kill them. They thankfully escaped and hid in the forest one again. There they discovered a world that humans couldn't see. A world of spirits and demons alike. Some were kind enough to teach the pups, and others thought they looked good to snack on.
They spent most of their lives there, growing up by themselves. Xiao spent most of this time protecting Bao, letting the other depend on him. He didn't make many friends, and when he did, they were just using the gullible kid to get what they wanted.
The two didn't stay in one place for long, and were also curious about the humans and their villages. They once lived in one, and they craved that lifestyle again. They first went as foxes, greeting people, but were shooed away and scared off. Then they tried disguising themselves. It wasn’t easy to hold a human form, and their ears and tails would slip out, giving them away. But over the years they taught themselves and got the hang of it. It was around that time that they also met a priestess. They were staying in a town for a short time, but that changed after meeting her. They were very curious about her. They begged her to teach all sorts of things. Mostly about magic. The priestess was skeptical about these blonde haired children and they’re odd eyes, but she gave into them. They learned a lot from her, and after awhile it was time for the boys to move on.
Before Xiao and Bao decided to leave their country and seek out the temple, there was a creature or demon that began haunting the forests. It was first a rumor that Xiao didn’t believe in one bit. He hadn’t heard or seen anything. Not even a scent. The rumor entailed that a demonic creature that ate spirits was born or even released. As years went by, the rumor spread like wildfire. There were even others saying they saw it with their own eyes. In the end Bao even saw it. They traveled far, but the demon ended up wherever they fled. Xiao soon heard of a temple in another country that welcomed spirits to stay. They both agreed, it would be better there than having to flee everywhere they went.
