It's not refined and all but I didn't want to uplad everything into scraps. So... sorry for the overall messy quality.This was a mere conceptual sketch for our last RPG. The actual scene that happened was a bit different though.
So, this is Sylvan-Ivanovich-Sylvan, leader of the New York Shadow Lords finally dealing the death blow to her old rival Arn Guth Stormbright, leader of NY's Get of Fenris amidst the smoking ruins of the Caern of the Sentinel. An hour ago both clans had been fighting side by side but the Lords made sure that there would only be one true victor. Years of planning and intrigue finally pay off for the clever she-wolf.

That doesn't surprise me... a lot of people I knew who played WtA already played *that* less gritty than the sourcebook encouraged them to, and from what I've heard, the new one is even more gritty than WtA.
I had a Galliard Fianna character I played who was a blast to PC.
Also I had a piskie girlfriend. That was pretty awesome.
I'm actually writing a blog about the character, though the universe is heavily modified to be not WtA since, well, it would be copyright infringement then. X) It uses some similar base concepts as WtA but kind of goes its own way with them.

I don't know too much about Forsaken, but I think I'd miss the end-of-the-world feeling and the possibility to fight a greater evil, instead of just chasing stuff out of your territory.
Aw, dramatic characters are fine if it's done right. ^^ I'm kinda the same there, just waiting for 'character building moments' to screw with the heart of my character some more. It's way more fun than characters who are too cool or too plain to care about anything, and I've seen plenty of those.

this! To me, a lot of the fun of WtA vs. the other games (less so Changeling but definitely Vampire and Mage) was that there was something bigger at stake than just in-fighting. I wasn't a huge fan of the "apocalypse" part of the game (like I said, we usually ran it a bit less gritty--more of a "unending struggle" between the wyld and the wyrm vs. the "impending doom" feel of the original game) But I loved the idea that the werewolves, despite whatever inner conflict they had, got together at the end of the day to kick some ass.
I don't think it's necessarily bad to have a character who is more upbeat, but regardless of whether the character is upbeat or more dramatic, it's important that they have depth. A struggle doesn't necessarily have to be tragic for them to be interesting, but some kind of struggle is important. X)

Yeah, from an old - or should I say classic - German heavy metal band named Grave Digger. The song is called (what surprise) The Final War and I think it's from their interpretation of the Artus saga. xD

Hehehe, now my players try to make sure that this picture will never happen. They (5 Fianna and 1 Children of Gaia) want to help the Gets against the treacherous Lords. Both septs try to get the support: Sentinels get it from Fianna from the White Waters caern and some wandering packs while the Lords get help from Hand of Gaia caern (Black Furies always wanted to kick some Fenrir asses) and Uktena from White Water caern (that politics will kill some furries
