This is already two months old which qualifies it for scraps. On the other hand I spent far too much time with that stupid thing.Uhmyeah. Darius is normally a near-human character with no animal qualities at all. But I was bored, so I opened Photoshop and turned him into that gay-looking lion thing. Meh... I dislike the ground he's standing on. It doesn't look solid at all... the hills and mountains however were based off a pic from a children's book.
The whole pic is a bit strange but then again so is eveything in my gallery. Have to keep on trying.

Really nice job! The only thing that urks me is that the lion's proportions look really weird to me, the hind legs seem so much smaller that his hindquarters feel like they're really far back, like the lion is stretched or something. The tail seems longer than the hindlegs, although that just might be from the angle. I think the BG looks really good tho, although you said you didn't like it. It's a lot better than anything I can pull out.
