My piece for the BA Mortal Kombat tribute.My two favorite characters from the game ever since I was little and played the first game. I did take some liberties with the costumes and tried to create my own version of the characters. Sub-Zero is obviously more cold and sterile so he is more put together with clean straight lines while Scorpion is more tore up with his "tunic', I think it's called, more beat up as if he found it and just threw it on.
This piece was alot of fun to work on because my brothers and I sat around talking about the game and the characters for days and they also did help with some of the ideas that led to this final piece.

well it is pretty silly they had scorpion kill sub zero and get his revenge, but sub zero is a favorite of many so they make him have a brother, after having no record of living relatives. then they bring back the first zub zero and he is noob sibot. then they made the classic sub! they should have had the battle between the two go on through the story, instead of killing sub off in the first one. and have to make up a brother for the second and bring back sub as noob sibot. i just remember all this from the second one haha i read to many bios.

scorpions is more mangled, because sub zero killed him. so it makes sense it is so ratty looking. he has been to hell as well.i know the movie sucked, but why didn't they have them fight? that was one of the best back stories of the game. their constant conflict. i always liked zub zero more.

I haven't really followed the game in recent years. I haven't even Played Mortal Kombat since college so I really don't know the story lines

yeah I love the total retro nostalgia you threw in here.....this piece reminds me of pumping change into the arcade version.
great job on sub zero's frosty hadouken in progress. ton of great touches here for old school fans.

Thank you very much. Whenever I hear Mortal Kombat I automatically think of the first game and my first time playing it so I wanted to do something that really represented that.

Thanks. Sub Zero was easier because of the glowing ice, energy ball thing that gave me an ability to do cool lighting effects

Nice work. Love the leggings on scorpion. I did my own take on the costumes as well, so it was interesting seeing ur take. I agree with the approach for both these characters. Good job =]
