Craft foam and Plastidip, perhaps?

I used Craft Foam in the details of the golden parts but in the mostly parts I used grey cardboard with 2mm thickness.

Before the paint job I put a layer of PVA Glue (I dont know why but this hardened the cardboard).

Them I painted with acrylic ink, drybrushed with black and brown to age, a coat of gum-lac that give a nice yellowed shade and them a coat of varnish.

The result is a good prop. Very durable and strong (not for combat, just to walk around).

Thanks for the comment.

Oh I see.
Thanks for telling me so much about it!
I need to step my game up, I'm not too good with realistic painting quite yet.
You seem to have your technique worked out! :]
