Description
Just decided to another pit of artwork based around prehistoric life.
In this case, a nocturnal scene of a dinosaur famous for it's name but not qutie it's appearance.

Reason i chose a nighttime scene is because with recent evidence, this species is noted as being rather fox like in it's lifestyle with eyes very well adapted to low light conditions

Name: Velociraptor mongoliensis
Meaning: "swift thief"
Family group: coelurosaurian theropods called dromaeosauridae, specfically of the group Velociraptorinae
Diet: carnivore, mostly hunting smaller lizards, birds and occasionally protoceratops and baby azhdarchids .
Era: late Cretaceous (specially the campanian era, roughly around 75 to 70 million years ago though maybe also the early maastrictian, around 70-65 million years ago)
Habitat: dry deserts, lush mudflats, and sometimes steps cliffsides
Fossil's Locations: roughly a dozen specimens found in the Djadochta Formation (also spelled Djadokhta), in the Mongolian province of Ömnögovi, but also in the Bayan Mandahu Formation of China.
First Discovered by: Henry Fairfield Osborn in 1924
