I've been searching for a simple but eloquent way to summarize this movie and here it is. I personally really liked it, but mostly for David 8 because I have an unhealthy love for morally vague characters, despite being (I hope) a generally decent human being haha it's a really good picture, nice work

Oh my gosh, I LOVE morally ambiguous characters like David, too; they're so much more interesting to watch than characters who always do right or wrong.

It's very true; they're much more real to me because most people are more complex than just good or evil, and it's hard to hate David 8 for his actions because he is not only essentially a slave, but he is also alone in the universe and convinced of his superiority. It's like if you were to try and force Loki to be your man servant. It ain't gonna happen and people are gonna die.
