If you are really new I will say is good for you to do static nature practice, this help very much to understand how to construct objects from light and shadow. Most of time light is one who separate a plain image from a lively one. As example if you draw eyes-will look alive only when you add light even if you draw realism or anime.
For nature static is good to practice live if you can and have space enough but is also ok to be digital. You will need to have on same table few objects-for ex a glass bottle, something round like a ball, a cube,an apple etc. You will need to construct them based on comparation.
