Description
Character from my upcoming mafia comic. This mantis guy is a professional hitman known by the nickname "Secrets", as he knows a lot of everybody, but tells very little of it. That's why his services are so demanded by the ones who have something to hide...I was in the mood to draw a scene, but the background is just a mess... I like the black and white version of this, so I may submit it too.

This design, oh this design. It is so cool. Too cool. Secrets' eyes are awesome, it looks like he could be almost able to see behind him. That must be useful!
By the way, what time period does the comic take place in? 1940's? 50's?

Woah! Thank you so much! I feel kinda sorry for not starting the comic yet, but first I really want to develop the story and characters a bit more. I'm glad to hear that at least it's not boring! ^^
It will take plave in the 1950's, or at least that was my original idea. It may change in the future if I see a different period fits better, but for now I will stick to the 50's.

And man, I have no idea how come I missed this in my inbox. I decided to visit your gallery again because I love your stuff and saw this.
You may know I'm obsessed with mantids when it comes to insects- I even found out they're my tribal zodiac, lmao!
(Tribal Zodiac is what you get when you mix your western "classic" zodiac with your Chinese Zodiac. Aries + Snake = Mantis because I'm vicious as hell.)
OH GOD this guy, Secrets. I keep imagining what a glorious gigantic fire would be set if our mafia worlds met. You have Secrets, I have my bats. But I have NO idea how these guys would get along. IMAGINE SOMEBODY WOULD BE HIRED TO SPY ON THE OTHER. I'd have NO GLUE where to put my money on, seriously! I look at this guy here and can't tell, which is GOOD CHARACTER DESIGN when you go for the mysterious guy. I'm the kind of person that can foretell things often, which makes me a terrible person to take along with you if you want to watch movies. So yeah, Secret is now JWiesner-approved.
Ah, Secrets would probably win as a hitman. My bats are "only" spies. But they're still super difficult to hit BECAUSE they're good spies and can calculate people's actions in order to escape in time. That's they're advantage.
Still don't know where to put my money on, maybe Secrets knows secrets to solve this secret of solving secret secrets.

Thank you so much! I think I can't tell who would "win" neither. Your bats are spies, Secrets doesn't spy on anyone, it could ruin his reputation. He only does that if he needs to know details about the victim (schedule, for example). He is a neutral guy: he doesn't mind about anyone's business, he asks no questions, he just gets things done and keeps everything to himself. I think your bats would have one big advantage: they work together. Secrets is a one-man-band. He has contacts, of course, but he doesn't trust valious information to anyone. The disadvantage of your bats here would be precisely the trust problem. They sell information, so if someone needs to keep everything in the shadows and wants to be sure it stays right there, I think that someone would hire Secrets.

My bats do have certain morals (which will show in their next scene), but you're right, you still can buy enough information from them if you have the money.

I COLLECT GIFs LIKE MAD TOO. I have a giant folder about them, and I know that one GIF there too! xD It's a classic. I see lego pain jokes everywhere which are some of my favs.

I love how you make your characters. and not just their designs either! all the characters you make have personality, which makes me happy since not a lot of original characters are made like that anymore.

Thank you so much! I always try to give every character I create a background, the most important ones being the more developed. I really want to create something not only people would like, If I don't like the character or there's something I judge wrong, I keep trying to solve it before heading further.
