Nice capture!
I brightened this image in photoshop to study the color patterns... this is a red-shouldered hawk. I know their range fringes into Canada, so this may be a bit of a rarer sight than for those in the Eastern U.S. I see them on a very consistent basis here in Georgia.

If we had a pumpkin and maybe a full moon, we'd have a more complete picture, but you have definitely captured the creepy night-time spirit that IS Halloween!
