My business partner and I have opened an art gallery and photo studio called Imagination In Focus! We have a grand opening Feb 8th but we did a "soft opening" last night which was basically a hanging the art party.The show featured the paintings of Dash Hobbeheydar as well as Dash's collaborations with LA painter/artist extraordinaire Luka Fisher AND 5 of my collaborations with Luka!
Good turn out for a small event that we didn't promote other than on Facebook starting the day prior. We had a number of local photographers and models in attendance as well as en editor from Phoenix Magazine, one of the teachers from the Mesa Art Center and my old friend Brian Pulido, creator of Lady Death and Evil Ernie and director of such films as The Graves.

Wow. LOL How do I answer? We have great plans. Laura's background is more commercial and mainstream, mine more esoteric and, well, very Tate Hemlock. Her background is in law as well as working for an art gallery and as a commercial photographer. Mine, of course, was very punk rock. We both strongly believe in promoting non-profit organizations so we want to do shows in support of the arts and animal rights. I also feel the Phoenix, AZ art scene is a dog chasing it's own tail. The same people doing the same bullshit every month. We want to support people we feel are unique but also deserving of attention. Our primary focus with the art gallery will be bringing artists outside of Arizona to the gallery. We want to showcase contemporary art in multiple fields including fashion, photography, fine arts, comic books, film making and others. She'll be more high brow, I'll be more pop culture. It's gonna rock.
