Hey looks fine to me, every time I colour one of my pictures it looks like a child's story book or something.

but thatΒ΄s the way we all start right? what matters is how much effort you put into it and the ability to see that you need to improve and work harder in certain areas. The only way is to set goals, to challenge yourself and try to do something you have not done before and trust you will be able to do it even if it takes a week. I should show you my drawings from 5 years ago

Well I guess we all evolve, if your ever looking for something to color give me a shout, I'd be interested to see another's approach.

I really like this picture. Then again I am a bit of a Conan fan myself. I currently own two of the collections of short stories/novelletes that have been printed and illustrated.

Well you can find some collections for such at the bookstore. They can be a bit pricy (by my standards) at a price tag of about $16-$17 dollars but they're worth it if you like Conan.

well, the problem is.... i live in Costa Rica, we don't have such bookstores, we are lucky enough to get art books that other places do not have, like Tolkien related things and art nouveau
but i bet i can find these things on the net.

This is just a sample, i use Deviant art as a gallery to show samples, i don't really care about the watermark at all. Thank you.

I really like the details of his mucsles and the blood on the snow.
Oh, and the wind. I really love how you've captured the movement of the wind.

Your brother's work is amazing, and you colored him handsomely. His pose is a very brooding, Conan sort of thing to do. He was (oddly enough) one of my favorite characters to read about as a girl. All that action! Even when he seemed to be in a hopeless situation, he'd manage to fight through it.
Perhaps not dark enough; discriptions of his skin always made me think of a pure-bred Native American. Bronzed skin... Can't look it up as those were some of the books I tearfully parted with during one of my state-to-state moves of which I've done three in the last 14 years.

Yes, i realized it was too white after i submited it here, i colored it in another computer and it looked perfect, now i can see it looks too pale, but i can fix that easily.
Thanks for the comment and the favorite, we really apreciate it.

hehe, well, my brother draws, my mom paints, my dad is a pilot but he makes cartoons, a cousin writes poetry and mstery stories, his brother plays the bass but the classic one, he loves jazz, my husband and his parents are photographers, so is his sister and his brother lives in spain and is photography director of many movies and he is another photographer and camera guy for tv comercials....so i guess..... yeah!! almost everyone do something artistic, oh and my brother sings pretty well, but he is shy as hell when the time comes, he used to be a drama actor on a small theatre for a while, it was fun, lik Jim Carrey ^^ and he dresses like Darth Vader for kids parties too, he is so much fun

I see... an entire family of artists.
Just for curiosity, your husband is in dA? He's a pro, I would like to see his work.
Thank you so much for your sympathy, you're very nice.

Your husband, he's the photographer isn't it?

Taurina In reply to rbogas [2006-12-05 20:57:53 +0000 UTC]
yes he is, but there are no pictures that he has taken in here, how do you know he is a pro?
Well, no he has no DA, he is more...i don't know what he is i don't think he likes this kind of places.

ohh my dear you've just told me so, hehehe.
I understand you're husband, being a professional photographer, dA looses it's sense -> sharing art, your husband does art for living, isn't it?

he might share some someday, but right now he is more concerned about our welfare and trying to help us with a new business we created, many things to do and our camera is damaged, but we will have another one very very soon, maybe two weeks hopefully, in the meantime he is helping his dad with his studio too.
I hope he lets me upload a few of his pictures.
