Description
Finally created a new character I always wanted to create, ever since I've read about the Genestealer cult. So, this is Dredd "Toothy" Jabak, an Adeptus Arbites Captain on the world of Umber II and the samenamed hive Umber. He's quite reknown for his courage, intellect and detective abilities and currently aspires into taking the place of his current mentor and becoming an Arbites Judge.
That is one side of the coin - a hero, a comrade, a savior to his fellow men and an Administratum enforcer.
The other side is that Jabak isn't quite human. Or even, entirely not. In his "other" like, he's a fourth-gen Hybrid, operating under a Tyranid Genestealer Patriarch, with whom his loyality lies. Jabak's exceptional resemblance to a real human and outstanding mental abilities allowed him to infiltrate and begin converting the planet's law enforcement - serving as an exemplary Imperial citizen and inspiration to many.
And he's no simple tool in the infestation. He feels that his psychic abilities had become rising recently, and started thinking about taking the role of a Magos - by eleminating the current competition.
___
Damn, doing this is fun. I'm quite happy with his Cult outfit, but on the right you can see how much I hate drawing imperial armor, the design ALWAYS sucks monkey bulls. Fuck my nuts if this aint original, including a shock-nightstick instead of the shockmaul.

Amazing work, m8; love what you did to sorta spice up the Arbites armor.

Joining the Arbites would actually be a good way to spread the corruption to other planets, as Arbites are always posted to planets away from their home system (in order to avoid sympathy with the criminals they hunt as far as possible). Β He'd basically be starting a new cult elsewhere, I think.
Oh, and Fritts, the term "Magos" is mostly just an honorific for a priest in 40K. Β It would technically be correct to refer to an Imperial Priest as "Magos," though you are correct in that the Imperial organisation that uses the term the most frequently is the Adeptus Mechanicus, in reference to its Tech-Priests. Β In a Genestealer Cult, the Magos is the Cult's "spiritual leader" (i.e. priest) and is second in command to the patriarch himself.

Gene stealer cults are one of the nastiest enemies of the imperium ever.
here's a random question, what would a gene stealer cult in an ork world look like?
keep up the great work.

Ahh, nice;
When Abuse of power is build-in into cop's job as it is in Imperium, it becomes pure golden for any subversive organisation.
mmm, remember playing Slaanesh-corrupted Arbitre in Dark Heresy once.
By the way, my new Slaaneshi Demon engines will probably quite to your taste:

Genestealer cults are always awesome. Corruption and decay from within, the Imperium will fall.

I love his armor He's so cool!
I was trying to implement the same concept into my DeathWatch RolePlay game. The genestealer cult idea I mean. Had a whole scenario planned out and all. So cool though that old stuff like the 4thGen Hybrids are not forgotten

The Imperial armor looks weird as shit IMO. But the nid/Cult armor looks pretty fucking dope - also gives the character a Tzeenchy feel to it.

I expect his conversion of the Arbites would involve a lot of rape, since that's how hybrids spread it...

Interesting. The only thing I've read about Genestealer Cults is their creation and spreading-through-reproduction influence, and not so much about what they do in politics.
I'm assuming the purple carapace is able to fold back upon itself in order to wear the Imperial outfit, or is that some sort of secondary outfit it wears out of tradition?
If you're ever up with some story-development/roleplay you can always hook up a Sorcerer of Tzeentch, hopefully.

I like the design. Hope to see more of him in action. I feel like genestealers don't pop up enough here on DA, save for the occasional space hulk story. When Inquisitors are investigating some hiveworld conspiracy, it's almost always Chaos cultists, but I've always been interested in genestealer cults and their conspiracies to subvert humanity from within. Great job on both sets of armor, I think they look awesome.

So, his children will be purestrain Genestealers. I'll never understand why GW no longer mentions the Cults.
Is pale skin a trait of Umber population? He doesn't look lifelike otherwise.

Yep, they will. Yeah I don't either, such a cool concept.
I figure yes. If it's a hive, there's a problem with natural light, everyone's pallid as shit.

Skrakar In reply to TD-Vice [2012-08-18 20:32:58 +0000 UTC]
Well, if you think logically. But you've got 40k characters in art, comics and fluff who live in the Underhives with normal complexion despite spending most of their time in an underground post-apocalyptic setting. Hear that? That's the sound of logic flying out the window.
His Arbiter armour seems too heavy for Carapace. It's like he stole his Marshal's armour.

It's your thing, though you sometimes go full retard in some designs - like wrist-mounted chainswords pointing backwards.

Although I honestly think the arbites armour is very good as well. Especially on the knee pads.
