amazing,... truly there is a sense that this thing could be a perfect blend of engineer and alien, or perhaps an engineer itself.

This is strange to see; it doesn't look like your style at all without close inspection. It has the kind of detailed watercolour style some digital artists use, as opposed to your more usual digital digital style. Very well done indeed.

To be honest, I'm often a copy artist. That is, if I see a style or technique of work that catches my eye, I always have an urge to emulate it. Not like blatantly, it's more of a curiosity like "can I pull this off given my tools and work ethic?".
The documentary that was given to me had contained a shitton of pre-production and in-production concept art pertaining to different elements of the movie - enviro, tech, creature designs. The creature designs caught my eye because not only I love everything Giger-esque, but because I felt that this was certainly something I could come up with.
And, because because art isn't my actual career, but I certainly want to evolve in it, I put myself different "benchmarks" for fun time from time. Little challenges. This one in my mind was formulated like "can I make concept art looking slightly pro for such a movie?" So I went on and did it, and felt I had accomplished the set challenge)

From personal experience I know copying styles isn't as easy as it may seem. Your reasons for style copying is sincere, and that will certainly help you learn from the experiences.
Looking at this, and your other work, you could indeed be a concept artist for film/games/etc... in concept art ideas are king, and you have a lot of ideas.
On a related note, it may interest you to know that the guy who designed the titular spaceship from Prometheus has a dA account.

I see that you re-used the "skull visible in the head stuff" from your first work on the Xenomorph.

This is a totally deriative "originuuul" design tho)

Evolution mate, it's only evolution (but I do like to see personnal reinterpretation of that kind of thing, it's interesting). Anyway, Vagineer is pleased with the face design.

Very interesting design. The side of the head looks like he/she/it has only vestigial remains of eye sockets and jaw muscles, probably after replacing the eyes and ears by ESP and returning to an all-fluid diet or becomning an autothroph. This in turn makes it look like an incredibly old species, something that has evolved to a peak position and then devolved to the bare bones after replacing everything it could by technology and psi powers.

Fancy.
It'd make a nice sculpture, especially if one could make a clear dome showing the skull inside.

I love everything about this. The organic nature, firstly, the color tones, the texture, and the overall structure just makes it look absolutely horrifying and gruesome.
But the main thing I absolutely cannot get over is the throwback to H.R. Giger's original Alien designs. The vague hints of human genitalia in the face, the slit down the middle of it's face looks vaguely like a vagina, enough to make it deeply unsettling to the viewer, but not so obvious that it immediately jumps out to anyone who sees it. And the human skull in the creature's forehead, very similar to the original Alien.
I can tell a lot of thought went into the design you made for this thing, and I love every detail of it.

Vaguely looks like a vagina? When I took a full view at the deviation the first thing that popped into my head was "VAGINA FACE".

wow this would do H.R. Gigger proud, Its so alien yet somehow familiar. It really is flesh i'm looking at, all the intricate veins and muscle tissue knit together so well. Do you see the rest of it?

Dipshitting here but it's the Furious Gods: Making Prometheus.
Althought that doesn't really matter, Google understands.
rather tasty, looks mighty like it was remade from a human, asin, necromancy style, using it's makeup and endlessly "kneading" it, until the artist took a step back and gave it life. Just to see how it reacts. Just long enough before it start spraying blood all over the place and spasming, dieing some sort of painfull horrific death suited for such a perversion of life.
Haemonculli would make this.

Going near anything of Giger's style or inspired by Giger and all that good stuff, you normally end up with blatant sexual imagery. This isn't so much that, which makes it nice. Is that sort of a human skull in there?

So instead of an alien with a penis for a head, we have an alien with a vagina for a mouth. Nice job, though I sort of already thought Predator's mouth was some kind of fanged vagina.

Pretty much. Although in the second predator movie Danny or (Mike harrigan) calls it a 'pussy face' so it's not uncommon to think if it as a vagina.

Predator's mouth kinda does look like one, though. So it's not like 'pussy face' is inaccurate.

A very stark notice of the fleshy textures and rather "terrain" bump mapping of the face and head, what looks almost like an adolescent xenomorph with a facehugger molded into the face like it was straight out of their concept art. Nice.

I daresay, what a terribly yonic face. It's like a sea creature merged with someone's bits.
I do love how you've rendered the veins and flesh, I feel like I could almost run my fingers over those tubes. The only thing I dislike is that it seems to get progressively more blurry halfway down the neck and the texture seems smudgy and undefined.

Wow.
Will it's face open like the 'wings' of that alien on Prometheus?
You know the one I'm talking about right?
I like the way you painted this, the blues make it very realistic.
