Trying to get back into drawing for myself lately. Its been hard but I am finally starting to make it more of a habit. Over the last few weeks, I have decided that it is time to branch out and try new things. So here is my first attempt. Usually, my coloring style is very simple. I wanted to try something a bit more "painterly" (though barely!). I really had fun with this. There are some areas that I know are not working but I will be redoing this piece for the next few weeks and trying out different approaches. So hopefully and update soon. If anyone knows of some awesome photoshop coloring tutorials that would be awesome!

So this is a sketch I did for fun a few weeks ago. I was having trouble being creative so I tried this exercise where I took 2 different magazines and opened them both up to random pages. Then I do drew inspiration from both pages. One was a fashion magazine where the girls all had octopi and squids on their heads, the other was a tattoo magazine with this awesome female model who had AMAZINGLY beautiful and colorful dred locks. This is the result.
