I'm the same way
For me I'm genderfluid, but consider myself a trans*male. Yet a lot of the trans community (let alone the rest of society) doesn't seem to understand that well yes my identity isn't always exactly male, I am trans.

If i may. Gender identity has little or at least not as much to do with genetalia its how you feel on the inside, and rather how you react to certain situations.. *fails at this* for example in certain cultures mostly before the rise of "modern civilization" certain things considered "feminine" nowadays were expected of men in certain cultures like raising a child was equal parts between "genders", there were some cultures like the Native-Americans/Canadians who believed/believe in two-spirit, a person who contains both a male and female spirit (something similar to that i'mn wording things horribly) The term genderless has also been used. Its sad that modern society tries to define and label everything so cleanly but really what in life in black and white? they many shades of grey, there are pros and cons to everything. I am me, i am alright most of the time appearing as a girl but some days i break down and feel awful, when i go out to drag shows every few months with lover and our friend(s) i bind and dress more glamrock, appearing (at least in my head) as a gay boy. Msculine and feminine vary as greatly as the people on this planet why should our terms be so locked in and constricting?

My gender identity is 95% male but there is a 5% where I identify as female so some people say I'm not trans but that's what I identify as regardless of what people say cause I know I am and even tho I'm male identified I still act as a well blend of masculine and feminine I'm a transguy but I don't follow the gender binary on how to act

Transgender-the word derives from "trans"cending gender, rising above it or embracing two pieces to create one whole...thats always how i imagined the definition anyways.

You know...that's hard to say. If I knew that I would be accepted by everyone, then yeah...I would consider myself fully transgender, and even happily transexual if that was a realistic possibility for me, AND if having a fully functional female body were really possible.
But, reality settles in my brain, and I know that being what I want truly is physically impossible. Then, there are still times where having a male body does have its advantages, such as how strong I can be when I need it. (Not that women aren't strong too...but yeah).
I guess I'm still finding myself. Hopefully one day, I'll just be happy being me.

I was making (an admittedly bad) joke but also you have the option if you want I don't and honestly with that is really the only time I have lower dysphoria but yeah in a polar opposite way we are exactly the same haha

I can understand *why* people would think that. Gender dysphoria is part of being transgender. If people claim to be transgender, but don't feel any dysphoria (i.e. a girl says: 'durrhurr I'm a gender warrior I love my ladyparts, but i still pretend to be a guy sometimes!1') they're just tomboys or feminine guys.
I apologize if you've been brainwashed by places like tumblr. So very sorry.

I'm not saying I don't have gender dysphoria cause I do big time I just don't want bottom surgery cause its not advanced enough and I'm perfectly fine just packing and I'll prolly just get a chest reduction because I don't want full top surgery and I know plenty of trans people who don't want the surgeries and its their personal choice it doesn't make them any less trans than anybody else and what do you mean brainwashed by tumblr and places like that I'm just saying that you can be okay in your body and still be trans cause being transgender is knowing that you are the opposite gender it doesn't come with a tag saying and to be this you have to want to fully transition cause that's just not true sorry if someone lied to you

You cannot be okay with your body and still be transgender. Transgender is by the definition a feeling of gender dysphoria and someone who plans to get their parts fixed. Transsexual is the post-op. I'm sorry that you can't use proper grammar and think that what you're saying is true.

No transsexual is a person who feels like they have to have the surgeries to be complete transgender is an umbrella term and a person who is transgender don't have to want the surgeries to be considered transgender because not every transgender person wants to have top and/or bottom surgery but a psychologist would still label them as transgender because by "definition" as you say transgender is a person who doesn't identify as their biological sex I've known plenty of guy who only want hrt or only want top surgery or don't want to medically transition at all but they are still male mentally so to me they are still trans and I think if a trans person can find a way to love their body without having to have surgery than I congratulate them cause that's awesome

No. Transsexual is someone who's had the surgery.
Transgender is someone who plans on having it, even if it is to get androgynous genitalia.
I don't know who fed you whatever bullshit you're spewing from your small mind, but they were so far wrong. You do have to want to medically transition to be trans*anything. It is not an umbrella term. People like you are the reason actual trans*people have to jump through hoops to not be driven to suicide. I hope you learn to make up your mind one day. I'm not going to argue with someone who doesn't understand the topic.

I have worked with the transgender community for years, and am a transsexual myself.
Here is the medical definition;
Transsexual; An individual who has had, plans to have, or desires to have but is unable to because of health reasons, have sexual reassignment surgery.
This is not just an individual who has already had one of or any of the surgeries.

I just realized, (no offense intended) that you are from germany. We are from the united states. There may be a difference in cultural views and psychiatric terms. Everything I just said in my previous comment, except about the fighting. May or may not apply to you where you live. I have no idea how your culture or medical physicians view gender identity or transsexualism. It does seem to be viewed differently here and has a different amount of easiness of acceptance.

I understand where you are coming from. It sucks suffering from gender dysphoria and to know that somebody else is able to get off scot free without it and get what they want, but isn't it better to help someone on their journey of discovering their gender identity than chastising them for being different? If we attack others in the community for being different, then we are no better than the homophobics that call us faggots, gay, or freaks. I think it's unfair to blame someone from the same community as us for people being ignorant of our needs. I know a lot of people like the OP who have helped raise awareness for male to female and female to male transexuals and our medical needs.
Transgender actually got it's term from the idea of transcending the gender binary. They actually have more than a few books in various places and help resources for people that are figuring out their gender identity that explain, transsexual is the accepted psychiatric term for someone who wishes to change their birth sex, whether pre-op or post-op. To quote; "Transgender is the state of one's gender identity or self-identification as woman, man, neither or both not matching one's assigned sex." The term transgender was adopted by transexuals because of people that did not understand the difference between transsexualism, transgenderism, and transvestitism, and associated transsexual with transvestic fetishism. Gender dysphoria works on a scale, very much like Body Dysmophic Disorder. Not everyone is affected the same way by it, not all focus on the same part of their body that another with the disorder focuses on. Some think they are too fat, others think that spot near thier cheek is too dark ect, and some it's only mild and can be ignored with focusing on things about your body that you love. For a lot of people, gender dysphoria is the same way.
I myself hate the same of my face cus it makes me look more like a guy but I'm ok with my small chest. I've learned to deal with the fact that I'll never have bottom surgery because of the cost for vaginoplasty and everything, and now I don't get genderdysphoria as strong about that thing between my legs. But I'm still trans and transitioning.
Sorry for the wall of text, I felt like I needed to get this information out there, and hate to see people upset with each-other and fighting inside our own community.

i think maybe, if its for personal reasons, you can still be transgender without wanting the surgery? i dont mean being happy with your body or not wanting it to be right, just not wanting to go under the knife to fix it?
i don't know, as i do very much want surgery, but i think i could understand not wanting to go through with it...
i do however completly understand where your coming from, one of my best friends has recently started calling himself transgender because he like to cross dress, even though he still views himself as a gay man... its quite painfull actually, as he used to be a very close friend but rejected me when i came out to him...

Most people expectually in the trans community don't get that transgender is an umbrella term and it covers all gender identities that are different from your born sex ya know?

if youre gay; you are a man who likes other men and only other men. if you are bi-sexual you have the potential to be attracted to both men and women.
the same works with trans. if you were born female and transition to male, then you are a FtM trans-gender. if you spend time switching between both, you are bi-gendered.
this is pretty simple. you cant be both bi and gay (simply an example) and you cant be both bigendered and trans.

If I identified as transexual that's the case but I identify as transgender which if you were to read transgender is an umbrella term that covers anybody who doesn't fit there born sex so I can be trans and bigender it's like how for most people sexuality is fluid to at least some degree cause I know women who identify as lesbian but fall for a certain guy (trans or cis) but still are lesbian identified

Transgender is an ubrella term actually. Transsexual, biggender, agender. Transgender is just mostly prefered by us that fit under the transexual thing Ie: MtF/FtM, because a lot of people like to bunch it with erogenous transexual (transexualism as a sexual fantasy. Yes it does exist) or whatever the term was, I forgot.
BUt then again, most of that is just so people have a box to put things into so they don't get confused. Really it's a person's personal identity, so it can be as complex as them, and only they can define it.
