Yeah, this one shows the flipside of the relationship humans have with machines, one that can best be described as "love/hate" (a feeling that I know all too well). And this photo also underscores, in its own way, how wasteful we can be. Seeing the old monitors, tower cases and inkjet printers, some of which may still work just fine, just dumped because of planned obsolescence and a general unwillingness to fix what breaks, compunded by the societal pressure to upgrade every year or so, is very, very sad. It sometimes makes you want to take whoever dumps these things by the neck and shake them yelling "Are you out of your ever f-ing mind?!". We have a bad problem with e-waste and an even WORSE problem controlling the societal urge to throw away the old and replace it with what we hope to be "better, faster, cleaner, cheaper". And when those machines do finally give up after serving a useful life proscribed by this mad and sick mindset of "replace it NOW, it's a year old", we simply get mad and toss them into waste bins, over bridges into rivers and out of fifth story office windows, cursing the very existence of the machines WE made to be short-lived. Technology used to be made with care and an eye towards longevity of useful operation. That costs too much now, and we are too impatient and want everything NOW, NOW, NOW. We don't treat our deceased loved ones like that, yet our tools and toys mean so little that not even their internal components are worth anything. I collect CPU chips that often come out of old scrapped and deceased computers as a sort of hobby. In my own small way, I preserve the memory of technology that has lived out its life doing exactly what its masters ordered it to do. And not once did it complain. I give my humble, sorrowful respect and honor to the technology that has made us all great. R.I.P., old computers. You will NEVER be forgotten. Thanks to whoever reads my comment and thanks even more if you reply.

Technology, the trump card of all adaptations, its like a Ace and a Joker. When you make use of technology you can survive to almost anything however there's a great price to pay for using technology.

i like this piece. the way the computers are positioned certainly communicate a sense that they're outmoded now, and have been discarded, thus highlighting the wasteful nature of endlessly advancing technology.

Abundance of the old things mb, today there are more new technology monitors, more new things replacing the old things, indeed the one that throws them it's the poorest :/.
