Description Well, here's the final version of Ajax in stone, as he appeared in the final year show. I think this view is probably the best cause almost everything you see is copied directly from the original Belvedere torso.

Didn't sell it though. I think in the whole show only one stone carving was sold. This was the most expensive thing there so I shouldn't be too surprised, but I need the money goddamnit!

I love this view. You really did this piece of stone justice, in my opinion. I like the surface finish, the color and texture seems perfect for the subject matter.

Thankyou! Sorry for the delay, I've been away for a while.

I'm glad you like it but I really think this stone suits a rougher finish - all the shell fragments that give it the colour can hide some of the forms. Still, it was free so I can't complain!

Sorry to hear it didn't sell, but it IS wonderful. I really don't know how you get all the patience and skill to make something like this. Your work always amazes me.

Thankyou

I'm not always patient enough, I've made lots of mistakes though luckily nothing too major. It's so easy to get distracted and all it takes is a moment.

Wow, fantastic work. Really like the outcome. Taken forever to finish. Pitty it didn't sell at the show, if I had the extra cash... I'm sure a lot of people were wowed though.

Thanks, I think people did like it. I finished him at the end of May so that's a five or six months on the stone, and several more months for all the preparation.

I'm going to take pictures round galleries and see if anyone will take him.
