It was my understanding that Space Marines are geno castrate. It's confirmed in Dark Heresy RPG (which is canon i think) and precised in a chapter approved it is, because it prevent them from the temptations of Slaanesh, and secondly they wouldn't rely on something as random as natural puberty. They prefer to control everything during the mutations so they remove all and count and the new glands and organs to make the transformation in Space Marine happen.
It's a bit sad but Marines have no balls.
