Me too! It's so fantastic. It made a big chunk of my childhood. It terrified me back then, but now I'm old enough to appreciate its beauty, especially since I read the book.

I saw the movie many times before I was old enough to understand what was going on. And then I was slightly traumatized when i understood. My mother then urged me to read it, so I did, and I loved it. -v-

I think that book is a classic. But sadly, you are the first person on dA that I have ever come across who has ever heard of it, much less seen the movie or read the book.
I had my grandson with me for a weekend a while back (he's 14) and played the movie for him. He loved it too. Now if only I can get him to read my copy of the book.
