*Edited: Thanks for the feedback, everyone! I changed a few things, from the butterfly to the eyes that were too dark for a personification of spring. I also went back to the original coloring I had, which was frendlier and a little rose-tinted. This is the image I finally submitted._____________________
I've redone this ([link] ) completely because I want to submit it to a contest and it wasn't nearly large enough, so I repainted it from scratch.
I'm much happier with this than with the original version, but I'd like to make it the best piece it can be, and for that I need feedback on what I can improve. So please, go ahead and tear it apart!

It's gorgeous! I love stuff like this, it's so cool to see the differences and improvements from the first one to this one. X3 Her face is just so gorgeous. She's got that sort of.. non-humany look, you know? It's her eyes. They're just a bit wide and the way they're shaped.. and her long nose, too. (I really like how you shaded her nose, BTW) Lovely~ 
Anyway, crit, huh? First of all, the cloud right above her head.. it seems funny to me that it would be all grey. It seems like it might be grey in the middle and light around the edges, or maybe the other way around, you know? (But then again, I think I've seen weird little clouds like that, so maybe that's what you were going for and it just caught me the wrong way for some reason. ^-^;; ) Also, I sort of like how dark her mouth is in the original one better. The gentler shininess of this one is nice, but I like the dark corners of her lips in the other one. ^^
I think the colors are just gorgeous, by the way. The soft sky colors, and the dark greens and browns of the foliage... it's just so lovely. 
Oh, and congrats on the DD, you deserve it!

This is amazing. I know there were comments about the eyes, hair, sky and vegetation being too dark for spring, but I think this is perfect. These are the first few days of spring, just free from the winterβs grasp. When the clouds have just begun to part after the rain that brought first shy flowers out. This piece is fantastic and well deserving of a DD. White wisps in her hair but turning brown underneath, carried by the smallest breeze, incredible freshness and beauty, innocence in her face, those gorgeous, slightly pouting and so juicy lips (biteable ), her beautiful doe-like eyes looking away with interest and slight surprise (I wonder what flower that is?). Brownish vegetation interspersed with fresh green, the variety of flowers and colours , early butterfly. Every little detail in this painting speaks of awakening after a long cold winter. Those first few days when you dare not hope the winter is finally over, but every fibre in your body is screaming it at you, and all you want to do is run in the sunshine laughing, joyful at every little flower and bud, every chirping bird that crosses your way, until you fall down in the grass and lay there looking at the clods parting to reveal the blue sky.
Congratulations on DD, you deserve it! And thank you for sharing this beautiful painting .

This is so beautiful! It's hard to say anything critical about it. It's fairly old so i doubt you are still considering other's critiques or working on it now. But incase you are... With the sudden recognition of it being a DD and getting floods of new comments... I'll add my 2Β’.
The only thing i can say as a suggestion on improving it, as far as the 'face of spring' thing goes: something about the color scheme makes me think more of winter than spring. I think it's because of the hair and eye color. I would suggest playing with those things, maybe making them more warm, springy (if that's a word) colors. Red or golden hair maybe, and brighter, more vibrant eye color... The rest of the image looks very spring, but when you focus in on the girl, that's what i see.
Just my thoughts. Either way it's a lovely image! Very pretty!!!

This really reminds me of Persphone, the daughter of demeter, whose return from her winter stay in the underworld heralds the beginning of spring. Particularly because your other version went for the purely innocent, fragile and ephemeral beauty angle for spring, but this one has more depth. This, to me, portrays a woman that is serene and delicate, but at the same time strong - reflected in those knotty branches and dense greenery is spring's bold explosion of life after winter, its proud and defiant reaction.

Wow, you said to tear it apart and usually I can find something but with this peice it's pretty hard. It's just the right amount of realistic. The only thing I see that you migght want to do a few touch ups on is the daisy farthest to the left. Great work!
