He looks a bit wary in the next to last panel -- not afraid of Metz, just a bit unsure how to react. It would be a good thing for Metz to have a few friends among his peers, though. Nothing for Mic to be jealous of, but a confidant of sorts. Just my thoughts & ramblings

I think he is on a friendly basis with quiet a few people, remember the girls at the festival, or the guys in the garden when he talked to Itztli? It's enough for friendly conversation now and then and going to events together. I think he doesn't have someone in whom he can confide, though, like a best friend. They all keep their distance because he's a god's chosen one and they are a bit scared...
