I've finally finished my project for len-yan 's skillshare class on character design: www.skillshare.com/classes/des…This is the final product - I got lazy, this could be much more detailed and refined... I still lack at working with shades and lighting, and I also need to practice drawing different materials (my chosen character didn't really provide enough variety of material - I probably should have given him some fur and other stuff to wear). I will maybe create another project later to practice some more.
The thought behind this was "what if Metz grows up to be Highpriest of Mictlantecuthli - and the fashion sense of the Aztecs improves a bit?" LOL

I guess? I did not think much about the flowers while drawing. Is it odd? I thought marigold was the flower of the dead in Mexico.

Don't worry, it was just curiosity that I had. And if those are the flowers, cempasúchil is what we call in Mexico to marigold.

I normally don't like skulls and bones and stuffs, but I really like how you actually incorporated the bones in as part of his outfit. Looks pretty badass!

It makes every sense to me that Metz should become Highpriest -- in fact he & Mic would have a far better relationship than a certain other god/human pairing
Some sort of fur or different textured fabric would add some attractive accents I'm sure -- but to my uncritical eye, it looks fine as is.
Would the next project be a view from the front, or in another outfit? Just letting my thoughts wander here ...

Oh my, I would love to see him actually become the Highpriest of Mictlantecuthli!!!! It is so beautiful! It just gives off this feeling of power and strength like no other!
