Security personnel (police) are currently being developed, and may be made public in a few months. The hospital is unaware of any use of the synthetic coating for religious (i.e., nuns).

The SteriNurse program exists for two very important reasons. 1) Disease transmission from one patient to another is always a grave concern in the medical field. The SteriSkin of the nurses allows them to be thoroughly cleaned and sterilized after treating patients, preventing the spread of germs and bacteria. 2) Medical errors cause considerable harm to the patients, and significant financial harm to the hospital. Humans, especially over worked humans, are prone to mistakes. SteriNurses, however, as they are fully controlled by the CCS, will not err. Patient safety is improved and the financial savings can be passed along to the patient or HHS.
You asked 'why do they need more efficient nurses?'. The answer is quite simple... For better patient care.

The Steri-Skin absorbs the main charge but it does transmit a small amount of static through to the woman, in the form of gentle stimulation. This feature was included to help maintain the welfare of employees.

The neural control chips of the SteriNurses can be set so that they are fully aware and fully autonomous while still covered in the SteriSkin. Many SNs have written into their contracts that they will be granted a certain amount of time per day in which they will be aware and autonomous, although this is limited to 30 minutes per 24 hour period. Such personal time is always in private, and SNs are not allowed to treat patients in this setting. At the conclusion of the SN's 'personal time', the unit will be either reactivated and will return to her assigned duties, or will be stored if she is not needed in the ward.

Prior to coating and conversion into a SteriNurse, the employee can notify family members and friends of her situation. If the employee wishes to notify her family and friends that she is to be converted into a SteriNurse for a certain contract period, then such a decision to notify the family or friends is the employee's alone. Conversely, if the employee wishes for her friends and family to not know of her enrollment in the SteriNurse program, her information will remain confidential and will not be released to anyone.
In some cases, the SteriNurse employee does not wish for her family or friends to know she has been enrolled in the SN program. When this occurs, the SN is given a period of autonomy daily in which she is allowed to text her family or friends.Β
The hospital administration encourages SN employees to discuss with their friends and their family members their decisions to enroll in the SN program. This serves to reduce unwarranted concern by parents and friends.
