Requested by jennagill over at TumblrDid I capture the haunted, vacant expression?
The tear sucked the life out of me. I had no idea it would be that hard to approximate a bead of moisture using graphite. I love how the eyes turned out, though.

Thank you. I think it's the eyes. Once I got the eyes--that creepy, broken, lost, vacuous stare--I could have messed pretty much everything else up and it would still look like Peeta.

The nose, mouth and shading for the facial bone structure sucks, though. Maybe if I find some time I'll fix them and re-post. I always make these kinds of mistakes when I rush.
And I'm always rushing because I never have time for this anymore.

Dude! The tear was awful! Have you ever tried to draw a tiny water droplet? It is so freaking hard! You don't have the area to get any reflection so it's very hard to distinguish what you are drawing as fluid. I must have spent an hour on that tear drop alone. That's why it's so huge.

I don't think it's such a unique "natural" gift. If I start writing in Spanish, I think you will understand it, too. All Romance languages have a similar flavor.
It's a lot more impressive that you're teaching yourself English, in my opinion. I don't know any French at all. I can just understand it if I see it written. I always figured everyone can.
Oh, I'm always up for new Peeta crap, man. LG has starved us, so yeah, I'm glad there's less than month left for Mockingjay. But I still won't have the time to draw anything.

Penso che imparare le lingue sia un po' un dono. Il francese l'ho studiato a scuola, quindi lo capisco,ma lo parlo poco.
E' vero lo spagnolo e l'italiano si somigliano molto, qualcosa dello spagnolo lo capisco, ma non tutto.
L'inglese è difficile ma è vero che oggi tutto è in inglese, quindi è facile avere tanti modi per impararlo. Io guardo serie tv e film in inglese, e leggo tanto per imparare.Ma la mia pronuncia è pessima
Ovviamente con le fanfiction è piacevole leggere

You think so? I understand you having trouble with English, but I always figured everyone who spoke Italian, Spanish or Portuguese could read the other languages. I don't know why I figured this.
I never studied French or Italian in school like you did. I could have, but I went to a deaf magnet and chose to study ASL instead. I can sign... a little. Believe me, it does not come as natural as understanding Italian.
So, you DO understand Spanish. I don't speak Italian either, but the fact we are having this conversation means we can communicate.
I learned English watching Sesame Street and Reading Rainbow. It's not fanfiction, but it's the same principle.

In questo disegno adoro anche come hai fatto il brocade della poltrona! ( ovviamente anche il resto è perfetto, soprattutto lo shading)
Io non cerco la perfezione in un disegno ( anche se ammiro chi sa disegnare in modo fotorealistico) ma l'espressività.
Un disegno deve anche trasmettere emozioni! I tuoi sono molto espressivi. Questo commuove davvero.
Ho appena letto che mercoledi avremo nuove stills e un nuovo video. Spero ci sia Peeta e anche Finnick! ( abbiamo avuto così poco Finnick e niente Annie)!!
Gli italiani in media non sono tanto bravi con le lingue ma riusciamo a capire lo spagnolo scritto, è molto simile all'italiano.
Il portoghese e il francese un po'meno.
Io capisco un po' di spagnolo anche perché sono stata in Spagna, mio fratello ha vissuto in Spagna e io andavo a trovarlo. Tra italiani e spagnoli ci si capisce bene eheh Sono certa che potresti imparare a parlare facilmente l'italiano, magari puoi venire in Italia!

We have to agree to disagree on my being detailed, in general. I put a lot of effort into that drawing of interview!Peeta because it was for and she can tell when I half-ass it.

Shading in italiano è ombreggiatura/chiaroscuro ormai alcuni termini mi vengono in mente in inglese
Si, Annie si vedrà poco ma spero che la caratterizzino bene, nel libro è solo la povera fidanzata pazza e indifesa di Finnick, ma se vedremo delle scene in Capitol City con Peeta e Johanna spero ci sarà anche più Annie.

Anche io vorrei tanto viaggiare fuori dall'europa ma devo avere un lavoro più stabile prima, i viaggi sono costosi.
Sono da tanto su Deviantart anche perchè vorrei conoscere altri artisti e avere il loro punto di vista. Quando studiavo disegno ho imparato tanto dagli altri studenti.

I stopped drawing for seventeen years. I just started up again last year in August. That's why I can't draw anything I'm not directly looking at. Also, I've never studied art or design, so I have NO idea what I'm doing. This is just what comes naturally to me. I learned to draw reading comic books.

Tu disegni benissimo, e anche io disegno con delle immagini di reference. Ho fatto anche disegno dal vivo con la modella, ma spesso uso immagini di riferimento. Anzi molti comics artist usano foto per i loro lavori, soprattutto per gli sfondi.
Però se potessimo avere Josh direttamente a casa a farci da modello sarebbe fantastico

Beh alla fine è meglio disegnare per se stessi. Cercare di farlo diventare un lavoro è stressante , è un mondo competitivo. Io non ho nemmeno il carattere adatto , oltre a non essere abbastanza brava. Quindi ora disegno perchè mi fa stare bene.
Il mio ragazzo anche mi ucciderebbe ma forse ne varrebbe la pena ahaha
