Very nice picture of the transformation stage here. This reminds me of an American Werewolf in London where the transformation scene was so good that it won an award and was the first time special effects won an award.

I'd assume it would be extremely painful also. Though I have never given the transformation part much thought besides the turns into werewolf part.
