I literally just posted this because of my issues that people may not give me enough credit. I just, like, NEED you all to know that I have this all thought out, including the science behind it and stuff and I'm not just making it up as I go.

This is also kind of my headcanon for the Undertale universe - especially the monsters living on the surface. I imagine there are very very few and they're constantly being discriminated against by the humans. There's no monster slavery in my idea, but most monsters work menial jobs such as maids, janitors or physical workers. That'll change when Asriel comes around, but shhh-- spoilers.
