Well, After Vergil Threw Himself Off The Cliff At The End Of DMC3 He Was Trapped In The Chamber Of Fallen Ones Where He Was Confronted By Mundus And It Was Then He Decided It Was A Good Idea To Try And Fight Him. Needless To Say, He Lost And Was Thus Turned Into Nelo Angelo And Used To Try And Kill Dante When Trish Lured Him To Mallet Island ^^ Hope That Clears It Up
