What are Explorations?

Explorations are open-ended, repeatable prompts in which your character explores the Pearls in search of treasure and resources.

To begin your first Explorations, make sure you've completed the following:

Main Story Quest "The First Calling"

Have a registered Herald Profile for your character

Have completed the first Adventure Quest of the starting area of your Pearl

This only applies to your first Pearl: later areas and Pearls require the area's Trial to be completed before Explorations in that area are unlocked.

There is no quest giver or prompt for Explorations. They all share the same subject: Depict your character's exploration of a Pearl location. This can be foraging for ingredients, delving into the wilderness, going hunting for a particular thing your character has heard rumors about, and so on.

Explorations may be completed a maximum of twice per week per character.

While Ventures do not reward Shards, completion of an Exploration guarantees at least a Common Loot Roll. The results of your Exploration can be influenced by applied consumables, equipment, or Pets. Loot Roll results vary by area and Pearl.
