LOL! WOW, a centipede with manners!!!!After eating it's meal of a house spider's butt, this Scutigera actually took a couple of moments to wipe it's mouth-parts clean on the spider's web before it crawled out, dropped to the ground & ran off into the grass.

Wow, amazing shot. My mantises preferred the top half of bugs over the bottom half. I guess it's all a matter of "taste".

I've seen lots of them eating, but I've never seen one use another object to clean themselves with after a meal.
and it was definitely using the web as a napkin; in the other shots you can see it working & rubbing it's outer mouth-parts across the webbing

I have seen wasps groom their faces or mouth parts but I certainly haven't seen an insect use a napkin before. Actually I have never seen a centipede before either and I didn't know that they preyed on spiders. The insect world is fascinating and since I have been using my macro lens I have learned so much about this most often overlooked kingdom in Nature.
Observing the wasps behavior was an education in itself and learning to discipline my own emotions while in amongst them was another lesson. They are the most amazing and beneficial predators I believe. How I would have loved to have had your lenses while I was in amongst them.
