Okay, I'm not an artist whatsoever, and I don't pretend that I can make anything like this quality... but the lines in this seem so indistinct! Even though it's coloured, it looks like the lines are mostly drawn in crayon. Is making the lines sharper that much harder? Please don't judge me for this criticism

It's called "I can't do inking." Every time I try to ink something, it looks like garbage. This comic is me attempting to work around it by cleaning up pencils using Photoshop and then coloring it. Not that much better, but seriously, every time I try inking something I just ruin it. Maybe I'll just go back to pencils...

I don't ink at all. I scan the pencils, then clean them up in photoshop with some touch-ups using the brush tool as necessary. It has occurred to me to try using photoshop exclusively to ink things, but I would need a tablet with a pen tool for that. I'm just not steady enough with the mouse to get consistent lines.
